Patience Buckwalter, LSW
CEO and Founder Grape Leaf Cafe, LLC was formed in 2018 and empowers refugee women in the Lancaster Community by creating an outlet for them to prepare their own authentic ethnic food and share it with the community. This “pop-up” Cafe has participated in various events in the past year. Grape Leaf Empowerment Center, Inc. was established to bridge the gap between refugee/immigrant families and community organizations/groups through a HUB that provides culturally sensitive case management services and resources for as long as they are needed. As an adoptee from Ethiopia, Patience has always had a passion for different cultures and backgrounds. Patience is a Licensed Social Worker, and earned her degree from Millersville University. She became a licensed social worker in 2017. Her practice interest areas are refugee and immigration services & family systems. She has been a social work practitioner for 9 years in various areas of practice (Teen Parents, Sexual Assault Counselor and Adoption Social Worker). She is also an Adjunct Professor/Field Liaison and a Field Instructor in the BSW and MSW programs for Millersville University. Patience resides in Lancaster City with her son. She spends her time traveling and enjoying taking in new experiences. |
